The Sonic-Venting System developed by Risen Drums was a result of asking a basic question.  What would result from the  placement of vent holes in a few different standard positions? Typically, drums are vented by placing holes on either the top, center or front positions of the shell--the few positions that you can place holes while keeping the aesthetics of the drum.  So with this question in mind, we started to sound test different options.

After we found an option we liked, we would send out samples to artists, live sound engineers and studio engineers to gather feedback.  After numerous options we came up with a system that created superior breathability, maximum resonance, and excellent head response while maintaining the aesthetics of our drums.

We then extended the study to focus on snare drums.  We wanted to find a system that would help give the snares a more dry and unique sound.  We did exactly that.  With the Sonic-Venting System, our snares  have a sound that can be described as thick and full.

Players have been pleasantly surprised by the feel of the stick to head response, and studio engineers love the way the snare "mic's up." Overall, everyone loves the unique quality of tone the Sonic-Venting System creates.
