Risen Drums uses a small, precision milled aluminum lug that has nearly no weight.  You won't believe how light our drums are in comparison to others.  We also isolate the lug from the shell with a shock absorbing rubber O-ring.  This low mass, light weight, and lug isolation allows the shell to naturally resonate and produce an amazing, room-filling sound. 

We chose to mill our lugs and not have them cast because of the inconsistencies and strength issues involved with the casting of metal.  This produces a much higher quality lug that has far superior strength characteristics.  Lastly, the free-floating tension rod insert is highly adjustable and will compensate for any type of hoop that you choose to use.

Overall, this lug is ideal for enhancing the inherent musical qualities of our drum shells. Our lugs have a natural matte silver finish, but we can plate them with chrome, brass, or many other powder-coated colors.
