BIOGRAPHY:
After banging on pots and pans as a toddler, Josh was placed
behind a kit by his parents to perform with them. By age
three, his talent was evident as his early performances
included the infamous “Wipe Out”. His dad taught him the
swing, rock, and two beat., and that was all it took; he was
hooked. He became a musical addict and at age13 he won his
first Mars Music hot sticks challenge. When he entered high
school he did everything he could to grow musically, earning
1st chair with dozens of honor groups including four
Missouri All-State
Jazz/ Concert Bands, and the Midwestern All-Star Jazz
Ensemble. Josh realized that his talent would not develop if
he didn’t move on from his small home town; his destination:
Belmont University, Nashville, TN.
Within the first week of school at Belmont, Josh was
grateful to receive the honor of being selected as the first
freshmen in the history of the school to be invited into the
Jazz Ensemble. The following week he walked into Guitar
center’s 2004 Nashville Drum Off Competition as a confident
19 year old and won. By the end of his first semester at
Belmont, he decided to leave and pursue a career as a full
time musician.
Josh is currently doing sessions and playing live for many
artists from the Nashville area. Some of his credits include
playing with: Steven Curtis Chapman, Nichole Nordeman, Bebo
Norman, Dave Barnes, Florez, Matt Wertz, Starfield, David
Ryan Harris and Bethany Dillon. In the future he plans to
continue touring and making records.
Robinson resides on the east side of Nashville with 7
roommates! He loves the Nashville scene, and when at home he
acts as a producer and engineer for “Sunroom Studios”. Josh
also enjoys his hobbies of golf and motorcycling in his time
away from music.
